Heart Rate: An Important Health Condition Indicator

Beating for around 2.5 billion times during a lifetime, it is no wonder why our heart sometimes, especially when we get old starts encountering troubles. These are diseases that affect the heart itself, the veins, the arteries, and the capillaries. Heart diseases are no longer new to us as they have been around through our history. Some may have been brought by system failure due to old age, unhealthy lifestyle, or genetically formed like those that are hereditary and/or congenital. The primary action that the heart takes is to beat. Beating serves as a very important indicator of health conditions, especially, those that are associated with the heart.

The times your heart beats are collectively known as heart rate. And heart rate is a vital sign that is used to diagnose someone’s health condition, particularly relating to cardiovascular health. And it is alarming how cases of people suffering from heart disease are keeps on being listed as one of the words leading disease – causing death in the past years.

It is just a good thing that there are medical institutions like in Pompano Beach the focuses on cardiovascular diseases. These medical institutions treat heart rate with a high importance as a change in the number of times one’s heart beats can be a sign of a problem.

Heart rate is not interpreted in the same way in all cases. An instance is when someone has a low heart rate while at rest and this is the same case as when the person suffers from a malfunction in the heart’s electrical system called bradycardia. With this, it is understandable why we need to consider why a little change in hear rate needs attention.

On the other hand, when the heart beats faster than the normal rate, it may be a sign that a person is under stress as his heart tries to catch up with the demand of oxygen by the body. In this case, there is a higher possibility that there is something wrong with the person. There are more conditions that a person would have greater heart rate than low. Palpitation cause by allergic attack, lack of oxygen, and the like may cause heart rate to go higher.

Going back to heart diseases, it is important to have close monitoring to any changes in heart rate like it is done in Heart Disease Clinics in NewSmyrna or the treatment centers for heart disease located in Pompano Beach. Remember that prevention is always better than cure.
